Media ICONS (& Beyond) Juried Photography Exhibit Opens this weekend!

2nd Saturday in Media
The Media Arts Council (M.A.C.) announces the unveiling of the 3rd Annual Media ICONS (& Beyond) Photography Exhibit.

The Opening Reception will be held Saturday, October 10, 6-9 pm at 323 West State St, Media, during the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll. (View the 2nd Saturday map!)

The exhibit features more than 30 finalist photographs, selected from numerous entries from professional and amateur photographers. Works were selected by Tsuyoshi Ito, Director of Project Basho, a photography resource center in Philadelphia.

Awards will be presented at 8pm during the Opening Reception, with one winner and one honorable mention in each of two categories: works focused on subject matter within the borough of Media, and works with subject matter beyond the borough boundaries.

Visitors are invited to browse this exhibit, reflect on the beauty and interest of Media, and enjoy live music and a refreshing evening event. Photographs are also available for sale.

This annual event not only focuses on the many unique perspectives of Media but opens the door for expressive photography originating anywhere outside the borough. The exhibit highlights some of the finest photography found in the Delaware Valley with an interesting mix of landscapes, natural and found subject matter, portraits and conceptual creativity.

This year’s contest and exhibit are sponsored by First Keystone Bank. The temporary gallery space has been contributed by Media Real Estate. Media ICONS (& Beyond) will be on exhibit for at least one week, through the Media Jazz by Night Celebration on October 17.

The Media Arts Council is a non-profit arts organization working to support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of the entire community of Media, PA.
