Media ICONS featuring 2009 Winners

The Media Arts Council (M.A.C.) is pleased to announce the 2010 Media ICONS Photography Exhibit, opening Saturday October 9, 6-9pm, during the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll.  This annual, juried contest invites photographers to highlight Media through their work. Winning photographs and more than 20 finalists will be featured at the week-long exhibit at the temporary gallery at 1 West Front Street, Media.
This year’s spin on the Media ICONS theme is “Out of the Ordinary,” and participants were challenged to find the unusual, the unexpected and unique aspects of historic downtown Media.
The 2010 Media ICONS winners are:
·         1st Place: Mike Berman - "Plum Winter of Ought Ten"
·         2nd Place: Rebecca Michelle Lee - "Storming the Bastille”
·         Honorable Mention: Charles Miller - "Courthouse”
·         Honorable Mention: Barbara Flannery - "Backyard Bird"
Juror Ed Hille selected these winners from numerous submissions.  Hille is a Philadelphia based photojournalist and staff photographer for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is also the recipient of numerous awards including honors from the Philadelphia and Dallas Press Clubs, The National Headliners Association, World Press, The Texas Headliners Association, The Society For Professional Journalists (SDX) and The National Football League.
