Mark your calendars so you don't miss the 4th Annual Media Film Festival, March 3-5 at 7pm each night. The Film Fest committee is hard at work reviewing the many submissions we've received from talented filmmakers in the area and around the globe.

This year, we've expanded the event to three nights of film. We hope to see you at all three!

Educational workshops will also be offered during the day on March 5th, to enlighten aspiring filmmakers or anyone interested in learning a little more about this fascinating art form.

Just the Right Mix at Media's 2nd Saturday! January 8, 2011

Media's 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll January 8, 2011 6-9pm Find Your Groove for 2011! Join us on State Street for the first 2nd Saturday of the new year!  Whether your resolutions included trying something new, spending more time with friends, experiencing culture, or getting more exercise, you'll be off to a good start at our family-friendly arts stroll.  Main Event   Mech AKA Bruce Leon Turntablist Performing at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union 7:00-7:45pm Bruce Leon uses turntables and a mixer to create or manipulate sounds and music including funk and soul records from the early 70's, and electronic records from the late 70's and early 80's . His technique features scratching records and manipulating rhythms using drumming, looping or beat juggling methods. This entertaining performance will thrill audiences of all ages. Featured Artist Geoffrey Partridge "Molecular Pigmentations" Picasso Restaurant & Bar Artist Geoffrey Partridge unveils exciting new work.  Be among the first to experience this exhibit. "An artist should be always be learning new trades, diving head first into the unknown. Moving forward is natural, impeding that movement hinders what your mind is capable of, as well as your hands and body... A true artist, a true lover of art, a true lover of lines, letters, composition, not only within the confines of a "canvas", no matter the shape, but also how you observe, perceive, and relate to what you see in the everyday is what allows for overall progression." -Quote from the artist. And much more... More than 40 businesses in downtown Media participate in 2nd Saturday. You'll find paintings, sculpture, pottery, student artwork, handmade jewelry, hammered dulcimer, singer/songwriters, hand-painted tapesties, wearable art, mixed media, tango, and a new installation in the M.A.C. Window Gallery at Bryn Mawr Trust.
