The free Doo Wop concert was a huge success with a great turnout! Quiet Storm treated guests to their smooth a cappella songs while surrounded by Chinese New Year banners made by the 2nd Grade class of Rose Tree Elementary.

"Each one-of-a-kind pin, available for a donation of $5 or more, has been made with love by the students and faculty of Media-Providence Friends School to raise funds for earthquake relief in Haiti. All proceeds will benefit Partners in Health, a non-profit organization which has been providing health care to Haiti's poorest citizens for over 25 years."

2nd Saturday in Media, PA February 13th 2010 - Valentine's Weekend

Houses for Haiti Fundraiser at February's 2nd Saturday. Pin shown handmade by Breanna Mullarkey, MPFS Student

February's 2nd Saturday is an eclectic mix of Doo Wop music by Quiet Storm, artwork by fantastic local artists including M.A.C.'s Featured Artist, Matiko Mamaladze, handmade art pins by the Media-Providence Friends School to benefit Haiti via  Partners in Health, and the Chinese New Year Celebration: "Year of the Tiger". It's Valentine's Weekend, come to Downtown Media, and have a great evening out! Media's free monthly arts stroll is presented by the Media Arts Council.

Matiko was born in 1964 in Tbilisi, Georgia. She has a master’s degree in Fine Arts. Her work is mostly figurative and highly sought after by art collectors.

Come on out to State Street during the day to see the annual Media Chinese New Year Parade, February 13th, 11:30am. You can continue the celebration during the evening arts stroll with Margaret Kou's "Year of the Tiger Gourmet Dinner $" and enjoy music with Michelle Christine Garza [updated music information].
