Last Friday, August 14th, Tyme Gallery hosted the opening of it's 12th annual "Inner Essence Juried Exhibit". 2nd Saturday artists gathered in Havertown to congratulate the winner, Helene Miller, a registered artist of the Media Arts Council. Helene won 1st place in this special exhibit, in which Tyme Gallery has invited her back for a solo show opening January 8, 2010. Many thanks must go to Tyme Gallery for it's endless support for the arts.
Helene's winning photograph, "At the Fountain," was previously selected for the Media ICONS Juried Photography Exhibit in 2008, and she also displayed the winning photograph from the 2007 Media ICONS Photography Exhibit, "The Media Ledger".

Helene accepts the 1st place award from Edna, the gallery's owner.

Highlights from around town:
The annual Scavenger Hunt was a huge success, and the weather was perfect. Visitors from all over the tri-state area stopped by the Media Arts Council table, on State Street, to pick up a Scavenger Hunt "Riddle Sheet". Local businesses were gracious enough to give a "clue" about something in their shop, or event held at their location and then participants searched for the answers. At 9:00pm completed riddle sheets were chosen at random, and gift baskets were given out to the winners. There was a child's gift basket, and an adult gift basket filled with donated goodies from many of the participating locations. Family fun was had by all, and every child received a sticker for participating.
